Saburomaru Far East of Peat No.6
In 2017 Saburomaru Distillery and Nagahama Distillery exchanged casks of lightly peated new make spirit to make a Japanese blended malt. This is the sixth batch of 'Far East of Peat a lightly peated Japanese blended whisky. This is a NAS blend although Nagahama only started distilling in 2016 so the whisky cannot be more than 7 years old. This is a new trend as the large distilleries owned by Suntory, Nikka and Fuji rarely if ever share casks between their groups. Saburomaru has shared casks with several other distilleries including Chichibu and for the 3rd batch of Far East of Peat Saburomaru was blended with Eigashima Whisky.
