Pierre-Yves Colin worked as the winemaker at his father’s Domaine Marc Colin until 2005. He then launched his own domaine, initially operating as a micro-négociant, focusing on acquiring small quantities of exceptional wines. Today, his domaine has expanded to include 70% of vineyards he owns and 30% of purchased grapes, primarily in Chassagne-Montrachet, with additional offerings from Meursault, St. Aubin, and Puligny-Montrachet. Rapidly rising to prominence in the Cote de Beaune, Pierre-Yves is now regarded as one of the leading young White Burgundy producers. His use of larger demi-muid barrels and avoidance of battonnage results in wines that distinctly reflect their terroir and showcase mineral-driven Chardonnay. Tasting a bottle from Colin-Morey is a unique experience, and with each vintage, Pierre-Yves continues to demonstrate his exceptional talent, promising years of enjoyment ahead.
